Well, hello! What do we have down here?

From my daughter’s personal collection.

The Australian Rainbow Lorikeet is one of our most beautiful birds.

From northern Queensland right down and across to South Australia, these gorgeous creatures delight with flair!

My daughter is a gifted photographer, and has captured some truly unique photos of these birds.

My role in her photography is to tell a story around what she captures with her naked eye. Why do I describe her work in this way?

She is severely autistic with very little language. When she sees something, even from a distance, she literally puts the camera to her face and clicks. Where most of us would spend an hour or more lining up, she just clicks! And what she captures at times is almost miraculous.

Look out for many more of her beautiful images, along with a story that I will craft to go along with them.

This image is most apt for my publication as it reflects the essence of the project - discovery.

I remain in awe of how she manages to capture such moments.

Then again, we each have our gifts, and we must do out utmost to use them.
