The Yellow Hibiscus

There is an image in my collection of a most beautiful yellow flower - a hibiscus.

I have been looking at it for nigh on weeks now, unable to conjure up the words to write something to complement its beauty.

An original photograph by the author’s daughter reimagined in the style of a vintage botanical print.

This is the first time the Muse has let me down when it relates to these very personal images, as I do not struggle at all to imagine a story to frame one of her photographs.

But I sit here with this one unable to bring forth a word.

And I don’t know why. Perhaps you do, dear Reader? I would be most grateful of your suggestions for a story to accompany this magnificent flower.

For now I will leave it just like this - an image without a story, yet one that accompanies it with empty meaning.

On its own, to revel in its splendour, with no word to tarnish its allure.
